The Writing Support Centre proudly presents the Students’ Writing & Speaking Feature — a dedicated platform to recognise and celebrate the achievements of UCP students in writing and public speaking.
Aligned with the WSC vision to develop clear writers and confident speakers, this feature highlights student excellence in:
- Public speaking competitions
- Debate forums
- Conferences and academic presentations
- Creative writing (poetry, prose, short reflections)
- Opinion pieces and academic writing excerpts
By showcasing student work, the WSC reinforces its core belief:
- Writing sharpens the mind and strengthens the voice.
- When students write clearly and speak confidently, they contribute meaningfully to academic, professional, and civic life.
Public Speaking Achievements
Students who participate in inter-university debates, declamation contests, Model UN conferences, academic seminars, or national speaking competitions are invited to share their achievements.
Featured posts may include:
- Student name
- Programme and department
- Event name and venue
- Award or participation detail
- A short reflection (optional)
- A professional photograph
- Recognising speaking excellence supports UCP’s mission to prepare articulate, thoughtful, and confident graduates ready for leadership in Pakistan and beyond.
Student Writing Submissions
Students may also submit original writing to be considered for feature publication. Submissions may include:
- Poetry
- Short prose or reflections
- Opinion pieces
- Academic excerpts
- Personal essays
- Creative responses
- All submissions will undergo editorial review before publication to ensure quality, clarity, and
appropriateness. - The WSC reserves the right to edit for language, structure, and tone, and to decline submissions that do not meet academic or ethical standards.

Students wishing to be featured should email:

Please include:
For Public Speaking Achievements:
- Full name
- Department and programme
- Name of event
- Date and location
- Award (if applicable)
- One high-quality photograph
- Optional: 3–4 line reflection
For Writing Submissions:
- Full name
- Department and programme
- Title of submission
- Word document attachment (.doc/.docx)
- Word count (recommended: 300–800 words)
- A short author bio (2–3 lines)
Editorial Policy
- Submissions must be original work.
- Plagiarised material will not be accepted.
- The WSC editorial team retains final decision-making authority.
- Minor language edits may be made before publication.
- Selected submissions will be featured monthly.
